(1) Fajr is calculated at 20 minutes after Astronomical
Twilight(Sun is 18 degrees below Eastern horizon) for the regions North of 35 N
latitudes and South of 35 S .The reason is that within this region, the Fajr-el-
Kathib( known as Zodiacal Twilight) can be only be noticed(hardly and low in the
Eastern Horizon only for about 2 weeks in september-October; this will be
already covered by the 20 minutes addition.
While In between 35 N and 35 S latitudes,The reason is that within this region,
Fajr-el-Kathib can be seen throught the year.Thus Fajr-e-Sadiq (True Dawn) is
calculated at 15 degrees(as per observations of some of the respected medieval
Imsak(for Fasting)is taken at 18 degrees; This difference between Imsak and Fajr
in these regions is 20 min and less.
(2) Isha is calculated at Evening Astronmical Twilight when Sun is 18 degrees below
the Western horizon.
(3) Asr is calculated as the Midtime between Noon(Zuhr) and Sunset;This can be
modified according to the differen Fiqh(law) rules.
(4) Maghrib is calculated at 15 after Sunset to compensate the different altitude
differences, and to make sure the reddish light vanishes from the Eastern
